UWP: TONY CHERBAS

Tony Cherbas
has been diving since 2008, and started taking

underwater photographs in 2009. In 2011 he placed and/or received
honorable mention in several amateur international uw competitions,
including 1st and 2nd place in uwphotographyguide.com “Novice”
category.

Tony lives in Guam but is originally from Seattle, Washington. In the
past 4 years he has been lucky enough to travel around South East Asia
and experience some of the best diving in the world. Though his
favorite places to dive are in Indonesia, such as Raja Ampat, Komodo,
and Bali, some of his best work has come from a local dive sight on
Guam that he frequents on a weekly basis.

Tony believes that if underwater photography is to inspire, or
approach “art”, it must come from a developed, concentrated
observation that is in accordance with respect for our fragile marine
environment.
