My name is Shigeru Harazaki.
I observe and photograph the sea creatures of Yakushima Island (in
Kagoshima-ken, southern Japan) while working as diving guide.
I am dedicated to Yakushima Island and its surrounding waters, and my
time is spent observing its sea life.
To me, photograph is only one tool toward a better understanding of
nature. It is not my goal to photograph but to observe nature.
I believes that I can't imagine wildlife photography without observation.
I would rather be a superb naturalist than be a superb photographer.
